Tips for Supervisors has been in development for the past five years.
Initially it was created as a reminder and review of the key learning take-aways for over 100 first-line supervisors trained in a multi-year process.
These supervisors participated in twelve half-day workshops, each focused on an issue critical to the success of a first-line supervisor.
The tips were sent to the supervisors completing these workshops and their bosses as a refresher and reminder on key supervisory techniques that would help them meet their responsibilities.
These initial tips have been expanded over the past several years to include other “best practices” that supervisors can use to build competencies and successfully meet the needs of their employer, team members and customers. These expanded tips have been used by the initial organization and two others.
